Children’s Ministry Director
The Children’s Ministry Director is responsible for developing and implementing programs, processes, and systems to help children from birth through 5th grade at The Peak Church grow into well-rounded disciples who seek to deepen their relationship with God and one another, and also seek to have Kingdom impact upon the world around them. This person will primarily develop and lead a team of volunteer classroom leaders and paid nursery staff who carry the relational equity necessary to shape and form the faith of our children. This position is full-time and reports to The Peak’s Associate Pastor.
Responsibilities Include:
- Recruit, onboard, train, and oversee volunteers and nursery staff, including managing paid nursery staff.
- Equip volunteers and staff with the knowledge and confidence to lead children in their spiritual development
- Schedule volunteers and nursery staff for Sunday mornings and special events, ensuring appropriate adult-to-child ratios
- Ensure all programs adhere to child safety policies and procedures, including background checks, training, and maintaining a secure environment.
- Select and prepare curriculum and associated materials for multiple age/grade levels
- Plan and execute programs such as Bible Reading Plan and monthly classroom communion
- Plan and execute annual special events such as Vacation Bible School, Fall Carnival/Trunk or Treat, Cocoa & Carols, and other outreach opportunities.
- Equip parents to be spiritual leaders in their homes with activities, take-home disciplines, etc.
- Maintain a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for children of all abilities and backgrounds.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, addressing concerns, and keeping families informed about upcoming events and programs
- Collaborate with other church staff and ministry leaders to integrate children’s programs into the broader mission of the church
- Develop and manage the children’s ministry budget
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, volunteer involvement, and supplies
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of programs and implement improvements as needed
- Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, ministry, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience
- Experience working with children in a ministry, educational, or similar setting
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and volunteers
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies
- Proficiency in technology tools used for planning, communication, and teaching
- Passion for sharing the gospel with children and fostering their spiritual growth
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position, including Sundays and occasional evenings for special events or meetings.

Director of Community Life
The Director of Community Life helps to create a church culture where every person feels seen, welcomed, and integrated into the body of Christ. This role seeks to create avenues that move people from first-time visitors to full participants in the life of the church. By overseeing welcoming ministries, guest follow-up, membership processes, connection groups, and small group ministries, this person will help ensure that The Peak fulfills its mission in “gathering all who feel disconnected” not just from God, but one another.
Welcoming Ministries:
- Lead and oversee the church’s hospitality and guest assimilation strategy, ensuring a warm and intentional experience for first-time visitors and returning guests
- Recruit, train and oversee volunteer teams related to hospitality, welcome ministry, connection events, and assimilation efforts
- Coordinate systems for guest follow-up, including new visitor communication, next-step invitations, and additional engagement opportunities
- Develop and strengthen clear pathways for individuals and families to move from visiting to active participation in the life of the church
Membership:
- Plan, host, and assist the pastoral team in facilitating a quarterly new member classes (i.e. “Next Steps)
- Send personalized invitations to new visitors inviting them to each Next Steps class
- Partner with pastors, staff and Nominations Team to ensure each new member finds meaningful opportunities for spiritual growth, service, and belonging
- Communicate with the pastoral and care team to notify of major life events (i.e. surgeries, death of a pet, new babies, etc.)
Small Group + Community Ministries:
- Support and strengthen the church’s small group ministry by helping people connect to groups, recruiting and supporting group leaders, and identifying opportunities for new groups to form
- Host “open enrollment” for new small group creation 3-4 times per year
- Assist new members who choose to find their own group by making sure all group information is current and accessible
- Work with the Pastor of Discipleship to provide small group leaders with facilitation and discussion guides
- Provide small group leaders with curriculum recommendations so as to preserve and protect the theological teaching that occurs in small group settings
- Regularly check in with small group leaders to offer coaching, support and help problem solve issues that emerge
- Provide that same support for our Connection Ministries (i.e. Men’s, Women’s, Queerly Beloved, JOY, etc.)
- Work with Connection Ministry Leaders in event creation, scheduling, and budgetary support for their ministries and events
- Collaborate with communications staff to ensure clear and consistent messaging around connection events, next steps, and opportunities for involvement

Ideals for this Position:
- Minimum of 3 years relevant administrative work experience. Relevant communications work experience is a plus.
- Excellent computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with ACS/Realm is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, administrative and project management skills with a fine eye for detail.
- A self-starter who is also a team player and able to work with minimal direction/little supervision.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and be organized, flexible and personable.
