For the FINAL episode of 2019, we have saved a really good one for last! Episode 10 is a sit down with Kevin Varner. Kevin is a licensed therapist at Triangle Pastoral Counseling who actually spoke at The Peak back in 2017 during our sermon series on grief. Kyle and Kevin discuss a number of things including their enneagram types, a mutual love for Richard Rohr, and being raised in rural NC. However, the bulk of their conversation engages what it was like for Kevin to come out as a gay man and the impact that had on his relationship not only with the church, but with God. Kevin’s story is one that desperately needs to be heard by those inside the church. He reminds us of what we encounter so often in the Gospels…that the only thing Jesus is interested in excluding is exclusion itself.
