This episode of Views is a very timely conversation with pastor, leader and community organizer, Jose Luis Villasenor. Originally from El Salvador, Jose Luis migrated to the US at the age of 15 after civil war wreaked havoc on his family and claimed the life of his older brother. Eventually, he made his way to NC working for Habitat for Humanity and then moved to Apex to start a new faith community for our local Hispanic/Latinx neighbors. Jose Luis is not only a spiritual leader, but co-organizer for both the Apex Latino Arts Festival and Apex Immigration Services. In this conversation, he and Kyle discuss topics ranging from what it’s like to serve an at-risk community to his love for the San Fransisco Giants! And especially given the oftentimes divisive debate on immigration, this conversation might just give you hope. Enjoy!
