What can you expect?

Arrive Early!

Our crowds tend to be larger on Easter Sunday, so plan to arrive 15-20 minutes early. If you cannot find parking in our lot (please use the Visitor parking spots directly in front of the building!), you can park in the Thales Academy parking lot behind our church.

Take a Moment to Get Settled!

To the right side of our lobby is The Cafe, which will have coffee, tea and water. Please help yourself and feel free to take your drink into the sanctuary.

We’ll also have a photo booth set up to take a family photo, or of just yourself if you prefer!

Arriving with Children?

Children ages 0 to Pre-K can check in on the left side of the lobby and then go to their classroom, which will be led by background checked staff and/or volunteers. Children ages 0-23 months will be cared for, played with and read to, while ages 2 to Pre-K will have an age-appropriate lesson consisting of a lesson, game and craft.

Children in elementary school will receive a busy bag that they can keep as they go into the sanctuary to worship with their family.

What will Worship be Like?

The Peak uses a mix of traditional and contemporary worship elements. We typically sing three songs to begin worship, led by our band. Song lyrics will be available on the screens at the front of the sanctuary, and the words to any communal prayers or call and response portions of our service will also be available on those screens. After music and prayer, a church member will read the scripture, followed by a sermon from our lead pastor. This will lead us into communion (more about that below), followed by one more song and a benediction from one of our pastors.

How Does Communion Work at The Peak?

First and foremost, the United Methodist Church believes that the Lord’s table is an open table. Everyone can participate in communion, regardless of your age or where you are in your faith journey. Lifelong believer? You can participate in communion. Not sure what you believe? You can participate, too.

We practice intinction, which means you will receive a piece of bread that you will then dip into juice. We also offer an allergen free station if you need one.

Our Easter offering will support the Fiesta Cristiana Family Resource Center.

Fiesta Cristiana is a United Methodist congregation in Apex that primarily serves our Hispanic brothers and sisters. The Family Resource Center provides valuable resources to everyone in our community, such as

  • access to food, housing, utilities and other support during difficult times
  • low-cost immigration legal services that leads to citizenship and a brighter future
  • education to parents on positive parenting skills and building healthier, stronger relationships at home
  • racial healing, cultural understanding, and promotion of equity and inclusion
  • school achievement through tutoring, college and career readiness, and leadership programs for youth
  • physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing initiatives through trusted community leaders
  • engaging people to improve policies, legislation, and systems to improve quality of life
  • empowering mission congregations and rural churches to engage with racial- ethnic communities
